Who we are
Detailed Pty Ltd (“Detailed”, “we”, “us”) provides yard cleaning, service washing, fleet cleaning and pre-delivery detailing to dealerships and fleet operators across Australia, and is part of the Detailed Australia Group. We are bound by the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). This policy covers the website at detailedcars.com.au and the personal information we collect while providing our services and recruiting our team.
What we collect
We collect personal information only where it is reasonably necessary to run our business. That includes:
- Enquiry details you give us through the contact form, by phone or by email: your name, dealership or group, email address, phone number and what you are asking about.
- Customer and account details if you become a client: contact people, site addresses, service schedules, invoicing and payment details, and the vehicle records held in CarTracker for the cars we clean for you.
- Job applications submitted through our careers page: your name, phone number, email address, the area you live in, your availability and anything you choose to tell us about yourself.
- Website usage data collected automatically through cookies and similar technologies: pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser type, referring site, and interactions such as clicking a phone number or submitting a form.
We do not ask for sensitive information (such as health or biometric information) through this website, and we ask that you do not send it to us.
How we use it
- To respond to your enquiry and prepare a proposal.
- To schedule, deliver, invoice and support the services you have engaged us for, including on-site quality control and reporting.
- To assess job applications and contact applicants about roles.
- To send you information about our services that we think is relevant to you. You can opt out of marketing at any time by using the unsubscribe link in any email or by contacting us.
- To understand how our website is used and to improve it, including measuring the effectiveness of our advertising.
- To meet our legal obligations, including workplace safety and record-keeping requirements.
Cookies, analytics and advertising
Our website uses the following third-party tools, each of which sets cookies or similar identifiers in your browser:
- Google Analytics (Google LLC) to measure website traffic and usage.
- Meta Pixel (Meta Platforms, Inc.) to measure the effectiveness of our advertising on Facebook and Instagram and to show you relevant ads.
- HubSpot (HubSpot, Inc.) to manage enquiries and customer relationships, and to capture the details you submit through our forms.
You can control cookies through your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics using Google’s browser add-on and of Meta advertising through your Facebook ad settings. Disabling cookies may affect some features of the website.
Who we share it with
We do not sell personal information. We share it only with:
- Service providers who help us run our business, such as our customer relationship management platform (HubSpot), analytics and advertising platforms (Google, Meta), website hosting (Vercel), and our email and accounting providers. These providers may store information on servers outside Australia, including in the United States and the European Union, and we take reasonable steps to ensure they handle it in line with this policy.
- Other businesses in the Detailed Australia Group where that is necessary to deliver a service to you.
- Regulators, law enforcement or other parties where the law requires or permits it.
How we keep it secure
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure, including access controls on our systems and use of reputable third-party providers. We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes above or as required by law, and then take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it.
Access and correction
You can ask us for access to the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by contacting us using the details below. We will respond within a reasonable time and will not charge you for making a request.
Complaints
If you believe we have breached the Australian Privacy Principles, please contact us first and we will investigate and respond in writing. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Changes to this policy
